Why it is urgent that you pray for others

This matter of prayer is much more serious than we think.

Did you know that one man's intercession can save over 600,000 lives?

Did you know that your presence in a family can cause the entire family line to be saved?

There is a story in the Bible in Acts 27 where Paul was on a ship that was going to be shipwrecked but God told Paul that he would give him the lives of ALL the 276 people on the ship who were sailing with him. So, your presence in a family, in a group, in a company can save them! It is why you must really critically pray for others...

in another story in the Bible; we see how because Moses knew God's ways, he was able to quickly direct his brother Aaron the High Priest to intercede for the people... Here is the story:

"Moses said to Aaron, "Take your censer, place fire from the altar in it, and add incense. Go quickly to the congregation and make atonement for them, because wrath has come out from the Lord; the plague has begun." So Aaron took the censer as Moses had ordered and ran into the midst of the assembly. And seeing that the plague had begun among the people, he offered the incense and made atonement for the people. He stood between the living and the dead, and the plague was halted. But those who died from the plague numbered 14,700, in addition to those who had died on account of Korah." Numbers 16:46-49 BSB

Now we know from the Lord Jesus' revelation that a censer represents the prayers of the saints rising to God, so Aaron's intercession stopped God's anger and while 14,000 died, countless others were saved. The Israel Army when counted numbered over 600,000 soldiers, not counting women and children... could God's wrath have destroyed the entire community?

Were it not for Moses - being the leader/Pastor/Apostle working in conjunction with the priest - being the Intercessor/Prophet... the people would be destroyed!

Being alert and sober means you will be able to know God's will and thus in an emergency, you can act to save your workmates, your family, your nation or your ministry. If God has appointed you to any place - a work place, a church ministry, a family, it is because he wants you to "stand in the gap" for those innocent and ignorant people who might not know better about him.

God help us to remember others in our prayers! Amen!

Your brother in the Lord and a bond servant of the Lord Jesus.
